D: I know this is sudden, but I have a question for Odacchi. Why is it that there is an abnormally extensive number of characters in One Piece who have unknown or already deceased mothers? P.N. Navy Blue
O: I see. Well. The answer is simple. That’s because “Mother” is the antonym for “Adventure”.

Ginny was debuted in One Piece chapter 1095, She is the former East Army Commander of the Revolutionary Army, she also known to be the mother of Jewelry Bonney. She knew Bartholomew Kuma very well. She was a slave in God Valley before joining the Revolutionary army , where she had first met Emporio Ivanko.

Theories to why Ginny might be Luffy’s Mom

Ginny’s Appetite

All the three characters Jewelry Bonney, Monkey D. Luffy, and Ginny match each other in terms of appetite. We have simultaneously seen how big is Luffy’s appetite again and again which surprisingly matches that to Bonney who is also known as Gluttonous person, she can be seen eating her most desired food when it comes to hunger.

As per discussions, the reason why Bonney is gluttonous is because of the devil fruit which she ate known as Toshi Toshi no Mi because of which is able to maintain her young age but also causes her to eat a lot because of the energy required during the transformations.

Both Luffy and Bonney share this quirk of insatiability with their supposed mother Ginny. This also further means that Bonney could be the step sister of Luffy.

Connection with Revolutionary Army

Bonney is the adoptive daughter of Kuma who has a connection in revolutionary army, the same goes for Luffy who is the son of the Supreme Commander ( Monkey D. Dragon) and Ginny knew Kuma when she joined the crew along side him, which means she was working under Monkey D. Dragon.

This takes to the next point since Kuma and Ginny joined together , it is well enough to prove that the Dragon knew Ginny very well. This point takes a deeper step into proving that Ginny might be Luffy’s lost mother. Since Oda has confirmed himself that Luffy’s mother is alive.

Also, Ginny who was a teenager during the God Valley incident, 38 years ago, met Dragon through her so called big-brother Ivankov. There she could have become Dragon’s lover and conceived Monkey D. Luffy during that time.

Conclusion

Nothing is confirmed yet, since we know Ginny is no more to tell us if she is Luffy’s mother. We know Oda for giving out misdirection and plot twists, this holds a potential significance for not just Luffy’s lineage but as well as the entire One Piece Universe. The importance of his mother’s identity can only be further revealed by Monkey D. Dragon and Monkey D. Garp in the upcoming chapters.
