World Cup Final, India vs Australia: Time to prove it to Rahul Dravid, says Rohit

The coach-captain duo has waited two long years for the glorious opportunity at a big win at World Cup finals.

It was the first time when Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma were seen as a coach-captain duo during the T20I against team New Zealand in Ahmedabad. Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid had the same goal in mind for India , the T20 World Cup and the highest achievement the ODI World Cup at home in 2023.

The coach-captain duo are only a step away from achieving their final goal as today they will see a tremendous match of India vs Australia, after their big win at the T20 World Cup.

“Whatever preparation we did, we did it for this day. Two years ago, when we started, since I became the captain, we have prepared for this day. We had the T20 World Cup, the WTC and now this. So, for all three formats, we had to prepare and identify players. We did this process; a two-and-a-half-year process. All players were given role clarity and that has helped us get this far.”

During an interview with the media, Rohit Sharma mentioned and praised Rahul Dravid of his role for being a great mentor, coach and guide in achievement of the Indian cricket team at the World Cup final.

Rohit Sharma had a mixed feeling during the interview with the media , as it is a make or break situation for the Indian cricket team at the World Cup Final. Rohit truly understand that this might be his last World Cup, which makes it even a greater event for him as well as all the young key players within the team.

Rohit Sharma had lost the chance of playing the World Cup in 2011 , but after 12 years he has got the chance again and is only a step away from the glorious cup. He mentioned that “You don’t get to play World Cup finals daily. I have grown up watching 50-over World Cups. For me, it’ll be the biggest occasion.”
