Nepal earthquake and tremor were felt in Delhi-NCR

Nepal earthquake: The quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers. It happened at latitude 28.84 N and longitude 82.19 E.

The Lamidanda area of Nepal’s Jajarkot district was struck by a 6.4 magnitude earthquake. At around 11.30 p.m., tremors were felt in several north Indian cities, including the Delhi-NCR region.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers. It happened at latitude 28.84 N and longitude 82.19 E. Strong earthquakes have struck Nepal three times in the last month.

Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of life in a post on X. According to his office, he has directed security agencies to provide immediate rescue and relief to those injured.

Local officials have been unable to make contact with the Jajarkot village, which has a population of 190,000. According to Namaraj Bhattarai, a police official, “Rescue and search teams must clear roads blocked by dry landslides caused by the earthquake in order to reach the affected areas.”

According to Harish Chandra Sharma, a government administration official, 17 people were confirmed dead in the Jajarkot district. According to police official Narvaraj Bhattarai, the quake killed at least 20 people in Nepal’s Rukum district, where several houses collapsed.
