Ex-NFL cornerback D.J. Hayden dead at 33


A major car crash at a red light stop in Downtown, Houston killed D.J Hayden among six others on the early Saturday.

Both the vehicles crashed into each other at the time of approximately 2 a.m. , when a Chrysler 300 was supposedly going at a very high speed had ran the red light and crashed an SUV, according to the Houston Police.

In total 5 men and one women died , among which was Hayden.

Among the six people , four of them were pronounced dead on the spot. Those who were killed in the crash included a man who seemed somewhat homeless while the other was the driver of the Chrysler.

The Police had interviewed one of the male passenger from the SUV at the hospital meanwhile the Police is still trying to identify the driver of the SUV.

Four victims were taken to the hospital immediately where two of them died and one female passenger is still in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

D.J Hayden was aged 33 and was born in Houston. He was selected during the first-round draft pick in 2013 after which he played in total of eight season through 2020 for Jackson Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions.

In the year 2012, Hayden had met with an almost near-death situation where he had a tear to his major vein near to his heart which occurred when he and his teammate collided during practice and had gone through intensive surgery.

“D.J.’s courage, perseverance, and dedication to his teammate will be fondly remembered by everyone who knew him,” was said in a statement by the Raiders.” The prayers of the entire Raider Nation are with D.J.’s loved ones at this time.”
