HAYWARD — A 22-year-old Livermore woman has been sentenced to 11 years in state Prison for killing her newborn girl and dumping her in a trash can in August 2006.
Carmen Gil pleaded no contest to voluntary Manslaughter in a negotiated deal, according to her public defender, Graciela Estrada. Gil, who appeared for sentencing Tuesday morning in Judge Robert Kurtz's Hayward courtroom, had originally been charged with Murder.
